Rightio. We took a little break. It was nice. But now, it’s time to get back to the serious business of bloggin’!
The first thing I want to inform the world about is an album I’ve completely fallen in love with and is on the fast track to becoming my #1 album of 2009.
Full of nostalgic, 80s synth goodness and dark brooding drumbeats, the follow up album of Fur and Gold (2006) is dark, mystical and wonderfully enchanting. Lead singer Natasha Khan’s somewhat innocent vocals fill the room with layers of gloom, evoking thoughts of an empty candle lit church, dark cold nights, empty streets and fog hovering over ancient lochs.
To support my infatuation for their sound and Natasha’s schoolgirl charm, here is a fantastic live performance of Glass, recorded at the Bowery Ballroom in NYC.
