Examples of Kinetic Typography

Friday, November 7th, 2008

Daniel and I got on the subject of Pulp Fiction today and on how awesome that film truly is! Which, led us in to a discussion about the brilliant example of Kinetic Typography which utilised the dialogue of the Jules & Brett scene that circulated the net a while back. I remember seeing it when it first did the rounds and thought it was pretty cool, so I jumped on to YouTube to watch it again and managed to find a swagger of other Kinetic Typography using dialogue from equally awesome movies.

Please note most of these clips partake in an audible and visual dose of profanities.

Here are some of the gems I have found:

Pulp Fiction - Is Marsellus Wallace a Bitch?

Fight Club - The 8 Rules of Fight Club:

The Big Lebowski - Jesus

Lock Stock & Two Smoking Barrels - Nick the Greek

The Anchorman - Time To Muck Up

Spinal Tap - 11

V For Vendetta - You May Call Me V

Kill Bill - The Price You Pay

There Will Be Blood - Milkshake

Dumb and Dumber - Assssspin

…and heres another which I really like but doesnt quite fall under the Movie category…

The Simpsons vs. Pulp Fiction

Thursday, September 4th, 2008

Koodoz Design is a rapidly-growing Melbourne based (south-eastern suburb) graphic design practice bursting with energy and ideas.

Our home-based office provides a relaxed environment with state of the art Apple equipment, the latest in industry standard software and great music all day!

The success of our quality work has created a growing demand for our services and we need a part time (3-4 days) web/graphic designer to join our team.

This position requires a web design guru who knows what they are doing! From conceptual layouts to finished product. Dear Adobe:

Wednesday, August 27th, 2008

I just stumbled across this little gem of a site - Dear Adobe - The perfect place to vent your Adobe rage

(A selection of fantastic gripes that people have with Adobe’s software)

Dear Adobe:
Why is Adobe Reader using more RAM than Supreme Commander?

Dear Adobe:
Why does Photoshop cost as much as a pre-owned small car? Drop the price please!!

Dear Adobe:
Get your fucking installers sorted out. Why do i need to CLOSE MY BROWSER to install a graphics app? I’m doing shit with my browser, you know, during the tedious wait for your installer to finish.

Dear Adobe:
Could you make Adobe Reader start up slower? I’d like to have enough time to go get a sandwich before I read a one page document.

Dear Adobe:
Enable auto-recover for Photoshop, so when it inevitably crashes for the 9th time today I can get back to the corporate schlock I was working on.

Make My Logo Bigger!!

Friday, August 22nd, 2008

I just had a client request that their logo be ‘more prominent’ on their website, which ultimately made the site’s design look a lot worse… oh well, thems the breaks. The funny thing is, i’m not alone, it seems to be a fairly common request in the design industry and always makes me think of this funny YouTube parody I saw a year or so ago. Some people have way too much time on their hands!!

Font Conference… humerous to the uber typophile

A well produced personification of fonts. Probably only of any real interest to the uber typophiles out there.
